Answers to Frequently Asked Questions

Why is my mailbox full?

There are two likely possibilities. Check your email account settings. If you checked "leave a copy on the server for 'X' number of days", then UNCHECK it. Once you've opened your email message then it resides on YOUR computer; why keep a copy on the server?

Also look for the line "empty trash on exit"; CHECK that one. There's no need to save trash, especially is it's preventing you from receiving new emails.

Why can't I forward my email to my gmail account?

Email will NOT be forwarded from Ripples-on-Water servers to AOL, ATT, Bellsouth, Comcast, Gmail, Hotmail, MSN or Yahoo accounts. These email providers deal with SPAM in such a way that if an email forwarded from our server to one of their accounts is marked as SPAM, it tracks back to the last address it came from (our server IP) and marks you (and our server) as a spammer. Soon you cannot send or receive email because you're on a spam list and/or the IP address for our server is blocked.

Do I really need to buy, install, and update an anti-virus program for my computer?

YES!!! Without it you WILL quickly become infected with malware that can corrupt your data, photos, programs and computer. Some will commander your computer to send SPAM emails and distribute itself to friends, family, clients, and business associates. That's not a good way to win friends or endear yourself to clients. It can result in being labeled a SPAMMER and having your email to many clients blocked.

Sometimes an email bounces back, how can I find out why that happened?

There will be an error message with the bounced email. Forward it to info@Ripples-on-Water.com and we'll do our best to figure out what happened, then let you know. Sometimes the receiver's mailbox is full or maybe the address contains a misspelling. There are many reasons.

If my email has been blocked, how do I get unblocked?

The error message attached to the bounced email often provides the first step to reversing the block. Forward it to info@Ripples-on-Water.com and we'll see what we can do to start the process. Please be aware that while we can request that the block be lifted, it's entirely up to those who have initiated the block to reverse it—at a time of their choosing. The process could take many months.
